The Physician Liaison promotes practice development by establishing and maintaining relationships with referring physician offices and other local community referral sources to drive new and incremental patient volume.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Marketing Manager, the responsibilities are as follows:
· Function collaboratively with regional management and the physicians to develop and implement marketing programs to grow daily treatment volumes and meet or surpass budgeted expectations.
· Visit referring physician offices with practice information and promotional material for PHS, in order to build effective referral relationships.
· Analyze referral patterns, insurance profitability and competitive landscape to create and execute an efficient canvassing strategy.
· Adapt marketing strategies to changes within the region, including adjusting competitive dynamics, shifting insurance arrangements, new technologies and changes at local treatment centers.
· Assist the regional management and physician staff with networking, media advertising, planning and organizing events, planning and/or sponsoring conferences and participating in appropriate business, charitable and other local organizations.
· Coordinate with managers and physicians to assist in establishing and maintaining referral relationships.
· Maintain data on company’s CRM daily. Review progress reports on a bi-weekly basis with manager.
· Understand competing practices and work with senior management and the practice physicians to develop offensive and defensive strategies.
· Provide monthly reports on patient referrals and office visits.
· Manage expenses to meet budgetary and compliance/legal requirements.
· Maintain attendance according to scheduled days and hours and appropriate dress and appearance standards, according to company policy.
· Attend mandatory company training sessions as required by state/federal law where applicable.
REFERRING PHYSICIAN ENGAGEMENT:
Maintain CRM database of referring physicians including their demographics, referral patterns and other relevant information.
Referring MD’s visits.
Work with manager and the center’s physicians to identify and prioritize referring physicians.
Coordinate 2-5 formal presentations and/or lunches at physician practices per week and provide them and their staff with information about the physicians, technology, accepted insurance and other relevant information.
Coordinate meetings/lunches and dinners with PHS physicians and referring physicians to encourage peer-to-peer communication.
Visit 2-3 additional referring physicians per day with information from the center.
Track results of the referring physician visits, including type of visit and collateral materials used in CRM database.
Clinic Tours/Open Houses – three per quarter (when possible).
Provide referring MDs with appropriate technical and clinical information.
Work with corporate marketing department to develop appropriate presentation materials for the PHS physicians and staff.
Requirements:
Skilled in MS Office. Must be able to create and update spreadsheets in Excel, create and update presentations in PowerPoint and create and update forms in Adobe Acrobat.
Skilled in oral and written business communications.
Ability to communicate with employees, physicians and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
Must be able to establish and sustain productive business relationships with referring physicians and their office staff.
Ability to think, react and make rational decisions under pressure.
Ability to pay close attention to detail and to ensure accuracy of reports and data.
Ability to create a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year university program.
Minimum 3 years sales experience, preferably in a service-oriented field such as radiology or lab testing.
LANGAUAGE SKILLS:
Spanish proficiency preferred but not required.
