Position Overview:
The Service Writer is the primary point of contact between customers and the service department. This role is responsible for greeting customers, understanding their service needs, preparing accurate repair orders, coordinating with technicians, and ensuring a smooth, professional service experience. The Service Writer plays a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction, loyalty, and efficient shop workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet customers promptly and professionally upon arrival.
• Listen to customer concerns and accurately document service needs.
• Write detailed and precise repair orders for service work and warranty claims.
• Communicate with technicians regarding service requirements and job status.
• Provide customers with clear estimates of cost, labor, and time for services.
• Review completed work with customers, ensuring satisfaction before closing tickets.
• Upsell additional recommended maintenance, accessories, and upgrades when appropriate.
• Maintain a high level of product and technical knowledge across motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, PWCs, and other powersports equipment.
• Handle warranty claim documentation and submissions.
• Ensure shop workflow efficiency by scheduling jobs and tracking progress.
• Maintain accurate service records, payments, and follow-up communications.
• Assist with customer pickup/delivery coordination when needed.
• Promote dealership services and build long-term customer relationships.

Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Service Writer, Advisor, or similar role preferred (powersports, automotive, or marine industries).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of powersports vehicles and terminology.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Proficient with computers, service scheduling software, and repair order systems.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Valid driver’s license (motorcycle endorsement preferred).

Working Conditions:
• Full-time position; includes Saturdays as part of regular schedule.
