Situated in the vibrant community of Cape Coral, FL, this opportunity calls for a skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Operating Room (OR) care. The role involves working a day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM on a contract basis, offering a valuable chance to enhance your surgical nursing experience across various specialties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and surgical staff to deliver exceptional patient care in the operating room.
- Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to anticipate and plan for patient needs during surgical procedures.
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
- Assist physicians by scrubbing in and providing support throughout surgeries.
- Update and maintain physician preference cards to streamline surgical processes.
- Communicate effectively with patients families regarding procedural updates.
- Supervise personnel involved in patient care, ensuring adherence to hospital policies, the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Float between multiple campuses as operational needs dictate.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years of experience, particularly in orthopedic, neurological, robotic, ENT, general surgery, and urology cases.
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS.
- Cerner electronic health record experience is essential.
- CNOR certification is preferred but not mandatory.
