Machine Assembler

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Machine Assembler with some hands-on experience in mechanical assembly. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of mechanical systems and can interpret technical drawings, use hand and power tools, and contribute to the efficient and accurate assembly of industrial machinery. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical equipment and components according to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments to complete assemblies
  • Conduct basic functional tests to ensure proper operation of assembled machines
  • Diagnose and resolve assembly issues or malfunctions during the build process
  • Maintain close communication with Engineers and relay feedback through all project phases
  • Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly or a related field
  • Solid understanding of mechanical components such as gears, bearings, and fasteners
  • Comfortable working with power tools, torque wrenches, calipers, and other measuring devices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Must have own tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or training
  • Experience assembling industrial or manufacturing machinery
  • Basic use of tool room equipment inclusive of manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, saws, power hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Basic electrical or pneumatic assembly knowledge

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching for prolonged periods of time can be necessary
  • Must have dexterity with hands and arms for precise work
  • Employee must occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 70 pounds
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs
  • Vision abilities required include close vision and color recognition

Hours/Shift:

  • 1st Shift (6 AM – 2 PM, overtime and weekends as needed/required)
