Job DescriptionDescription:

The Tennis Shop Attendant plays a key role in promoting the game of tennis and providing exceptional service to Members and Guests at La Gorce Country Club. This position ensures a welcoming and professional atmosphere at the tennis facility, enhancing the overall member experience.


Candidates must be available to work weekends and evenings.

Schedule:

Thursday 1pm-7pm

Friday 7:30am -7pm

Saturday 7:30am-5pm

Sunday 7am-5pm


Daily Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service in the Tennis Pro Shop, ensuring all players are properly checked in and all charges are processed same-day through the POS system.
  • Assist Members with booking appointments, making court reservations, and purchasing retail items.
  • Support tennis professionals with their daily operations and assist Members with any needs that arise.
  • Answer phone calls and in-person inquiries in a courteous, family-friendly manner; remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Manage monthly inventory and ensure accurate reports are submitted to Accounting on time.
  • Process merchandise returns and issue appropriate credits.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism while promoting tennis programs and the Club’s values.
  • Follow club procedures for end-of-day reporting and business closing functions.
  • Ensure all areas of the Tennis Shop are clean, organized, and presentable, including straightening merchandise and picking up debris.
  • Collaborate proactively with fellow employees and remain attentive to team needs without waiting for direction.
  • Stay informed of the tennis professionals’ schedules and program offerings.
  • Promptly notify the Director of Tennis of any Member or Guest concerns; resolve issues quickly and professionally whenever possible.
  • Assist Members and Guests with last-minute changes or requests in a professional and flexible manner.
  • Greet all Members and Guests upon entry with a warm and welcoming attitude.
  • Answer phones with a positive, energetic tone and provide accurate information regarding tennis programs and services.
  • Re-stock retail items as directed and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the shop.
  • Help ensure the safety and comfort of all guests in the tennis facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Tennis.

Requirements:

Skills Required:

  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Customer service skills (Hospitality experience a plus)
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Exceptional administrative skills and ability to multi-task
  • Proper phone etiquette
  • General knowledge of the game of tennis and/or pickle ball preferred


Educational/Misc. Requirements :

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Previous administrative/Receptionist experience preferred


Schedule Requirements:

  • Must be flexible and able to work weekends and holidays.
