POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides Nuclear Medicine Services in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures. Responsible for recognizing and reacting appropriately to nursing care situations which may include reporting to appropriate personnel. Assists in the supervision and orientation of new staff. Maintains necessary documentation as required by all local, state and federal agencies which monitor the provision of Nuclear Medicine Services. Order and maintain appropriate supplies including nuclear isotopes. Participates in quality improvement activities and assists the Radiation Physicist with testing and documentation. Prepares for and participates in all inspections by assuring that proper techniques, handling procedures, monitoring and documentation is accurate and current as set by departmental policy. Technologists are required to participate in on-call coverage for the modality as part of the essentials of the job requirement.
CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):
- Graduate of an approved program of Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Current FL Rad Tech License
- Registered CNMT
- Current BLS Certification
