Job DescriptionCommercial Property Manager (Financial & Construction Accounting Focus)
About the Role
A growing commercial real estate ownership group is seeking a Commercial Property Manager with strong financial management and construction accounting experience. This role supports the daily operations, budgeting, reporting, and tenant coordination for a high-quality commercial property currently undergoing modernization and strategic upgrades.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable supporting both operational and construction-related activities in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Reporting
- Assist with creating annual budgets, monthly reporting packages, and financial statements.
- Manage AP/AR, vendor invoices, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Track operating expenses, capital projects, and construction-related costs.
- Support ownership with cash flow reviews and variance analysis.
Construction & Project Support
- Coordinate with contractors, construction managers, and internal teams on building improvements and tenant build-outs.
- Maintain project files including budgets, schedules, lien waivers, and compliance documents.
- Conduct site walks to monitor construction progress and report issues or delays.
Property Operations
- Oversee daily building operations, vendor services, preventive maintenance, and life-safety compliance.
- Assist with vendor contracts, RFPs, and operational performance standards.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and coordinate timely resolutions.
Tenant Relations
- Serve as a primary point of contact for tenant requests and communications.
- Coordinate move-ins, maintenance updates, and property notifications.
- Support efforts to maintain a positive, professional tenant experience.
Qualifications
- 3–6+ years of commercial property management experience.
- Strong financial skills, including budgeting, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Construction accounting or tenant improvement (TI) coordination experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with property management software (Yardi, MRI, etc.) preferred.
- Real estate license or industry certifications (CPM, RPA) a plus.
