About the Role:

The Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of kitchen equipment within the accommodation and food services industry. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial kitchen appliances to minimize downtime and support seamless food service operations. The technician will work closely with restaurant and facility management to schedule maintenance and respond promptly to service requests, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations. By applying technical expertise and problem-solving skills, the technician helps extend the lifespan of equipment and contributes to operational efficiency. Ultimately, this role is essential for maintaining high standards of kitchen functionality and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar role servicing commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems related to kitchen appliances.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to various job sites within the Orlando Downtown area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or diploma in HVAC, electrical, or appliance repair.
  • Experience working in the accommodation and food services industry.
  • Familiarity with safety and health regulations applicable to commercial kitchens.
  • Customer service experience with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Basic welding or fabrication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, fryers, and ventilation systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions using specialized tools and technical manuals.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and troubleshoot issues to minimize equipment downtime and disruption to kitchen operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of service visits, repairs, parts used, and equipment status for reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to schedule maintenance activities that align with operational needs and safety standards.
  • Order and manage inventory of replacement parts and supplies necessary for repairs and maintenance.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry standards, equipment models, and safety regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
