We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hotel Assistant General Manager to join our team at the Courtyard by Marriott Aventura Mall. As the Assistant General Manager, you are the strategic business leader of the property operations and act as the Complex General Manager in his/her absence. Your areas of responsibility include but are not limited to Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering and Food and Beverage. Position works with direct and indirect reports to develop and implement the operations strategy and ensure the implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives. The position ensures operations meet the brand’s target customer needs, ensuring team member satisfaction, focuses on growing revenues and maximizes financial performance. You collaborate with the Complex General Manager developing and implementing property-wide strategies that deliver products and services to meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the brand’s target customer and property team members and provides a return on investment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field, preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in hotel management
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Experience with hotel property management systems e.g. FOSSE/Power of M
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, according to department needs and business volumes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Courtyard or similar hotel brand
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Complex General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel
  • Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service
  • Manage and train hotel staff to ensure they are providing excellent service to guests
  • Assist in developing and implementing hotel policies and procedures
  • Monitor and maintain the hotel's financial performance by analyzing financial reports and implementing strategies to improve revenue and reduce expenses
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Skills:

As the Assistant General Manager, you will utilize your skills in hotel property management systems and your fluency in English and Spanish to effectively manage the hotel's operations. You will also use your strong leadership and communication skills to train and manage the hotel staff, ensuring they are providing exceptional service to guests. Additionally, you will use your analytical skills to monitor and maintain the hotel's financial performance, implementing strategies to improve revenue and reduce expenses. Overall, this role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Complex General Manager and hotel staff to achieve the hotel's goals.
