Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys with various tasks related to estate planning, probate, and trust administration, including drafting documents, managing files, and communicating with clients and other parties.
Duties
- Assisting with all phases of estate and trust administration.
- Obtains work assignments from attorneys in their office or assigned department.
- Maintains annual billable hours as set by the Firm.
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients regarding case updates and documentation requirements.
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents.
- Meeting with clients, trustees, and family members.
- Managing client files and ensuring confidentiality.
- Filing documents with the court and other relevant agencies.
- Contacts court administration and regulatory bodies as needed to fulfill job assignment.
- Managing calendars and coordinating meetings.
- Maintaining records and files.
- Performs other duties, projects and assignments as needed to support the Firm.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of legal assistant related experience. A background in trusts and estates and probate preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail is essential for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Must be able to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities
- Excellent computer skills required specifically Microsoft Office and Adobe. Tabs3 and Practice Master experience is a plus.
