Position Summary
The Senior Mechanical Service Technician will lead diagnostic, repair, and maintenance efforts for commercial and institutional HVAC systems. This role requires a hands-on expert who can troubleshoot complex issues, deliver excellent customer service, and mentor junior technicians. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in mechanical/HVAC service with a strong background in healthcare, laboratory, and/or critical environment systems.
Key Responsibilities

Begin the groundwork for the growth and development of the Service Department.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair chillers, boilers, rooftop units, air handlers, VRF/mini-split systems, and DX systems.

Perform preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with manufacturer and industry standards.

Lead and supervise on-site service activities, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Communicate findings, recommendations, and solutions directly to clients and project managers.

Document work performed with detailed service reports.

Mentor and support junior technicians, promoting skill development and professionalism.

Participate in emergency service rotation and respond promptly to urgent calls.

Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in excellent condition.
Qualifications

Minimum 10–15 years of mechanical/HVAC service experience (healthcare or institutional facilities preferred).

Strong knowledge of DX, VRF, hydronic, steam, and controls systems.

EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and P&L schedules.

Proven leadership and mentoring ability.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and customer communication.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
