Responsible for the overall playing condition and daily maintenance of the Tennis, Pickle ball and Bocce courts, surrounding facilities and sitting areas. Schedule Mon - Fri 5am-1:30pm. Will train, experience preferred but not required

Essential functions

  • Rake or Broom 16 Tennis courts by cart, blow 6 Pickle ball courts and rake 2 Bocce courts.
  • Inform Operations Manager immediately when courts are wet or are under repair.
  • Assist with set-up of daily Club Events/Inter-club League play preparations.
  • Order and pick up supplies when needed (Cups, Chlorine, fuel, garbage bags, coffee etc.).
  • Establish a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance schedule to ensure a high standard quality playing surface.
  • Establish and maintain a daily/weekly/monthly schedule for cleaning the general tennis Tennis Pavilion and Pickle ball area.
  • Determine the maintenance court surface supplies that are needed daily/ monthly/annually and submit orders (within budget limitations and with the approval of the Director of Racquet Sports).
  • Complete a personal daily and weekly maintenance and inventory checklist.

  • Create a clean and organize work station and vehicle/storage areas.
  • Evaluate the condition of nets, windscreens, fencing, garbage cans etc. and request repair/cleaning or replacement.
  • Evaluate the condition of all canopy seating areas and request cleaning/repair and/or replacement.
  • Oversee other tennis maintenance personnel or temporary workers as directed by the Director of Racquet Sports.
  • Each week 2-4 Courts will be rotated and blocked for maintenance staff to execute the monthly maintenance/detailing plan.
  • Assist Pro Shop/ Operations Manager and/or Director of Racquet Sports with daily operations when needed.
  • Lifting/moving 50lbs. Har-tru bags up to 100 times/day when needed.
  • Shovel wet or dry green rock and remove to dump area.
  • Take down and replace windscreens when needed.
  • Responsible for the summer annual tennis court reconditioning program and requesting temporary workers if needed.
  • Required to be punctual, reliable, stay on task, self- motivated and communicate well with others.
  • Meet with Director of Racquet Sports weekly to discuss daily and weekly maintenance and tennis schedule.
  • Perform any other duty assigned by your manager.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Must be able and willing to take directions.

  • Good organizational skills.
  • High levels of enthusiasm and energy.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and coordinate and complete tasks with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to recognize and solve problems.
  • Using and operating a Fork Lift.
  • Knowledge of and certification in AED/CPR/First Aid.
  • Usage of and safe operation of the following (Service, Mule, Brutus Roller, court Pac Roller, and golf cart).

Education and experience

  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent required.
  • Two years tennis court maintenance experience preferred but not required.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organization skills required.
  • CPR certification/First Aid/AED certification required.
  • Ability to lift/move 50-100 lbs. up to 100 times/day.
  • Ability to withstand heat/humidity/wet conditions, as most work is conducted outside.
  • Ability of brooming 14 courts by cart (at times, by hand) and "lining" the courts with line sweeper 2 times/day.
