A one-year contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in pediatric care within a K-12 school setting located in Homestead, FL. This role offers the possibility of contract extensions or transition to a permanent position, providing a stable and rewarding career path in a dynamic environment.
You will work individually with children aged 2 to 18 years in an outpatient pediatric clinic, focusing on mild to moderate speech and language delays. The caseload includes clients with pragmatic language difficulties, receptive and expressive language delays, reading and writing challenges, articulation disorders, and high-functioning autism. There are no medically fragile patients, allowing concentrated therapeutic interventions tailored to each childs unique needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and evaluations to accurately identify speech and language needs
- Delivering direct therapy services to children on an individual basis
- Collaborating with educators and parents by attending Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans based on therapeutic outcomes
Desired qualifications and skills:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Experience working with pediatric populations, specifically in outpatient and school settings
- Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completion or active CFY participation
- Strong understanding of developmental speech and language disorders and autism spectrum conditions
- Ability to work independently and manage caseload efficiently
