Your Role
In this entry-level position, you will support our interior design team throughout every phase of a project—helping to bring concepts to life, execute detailed documentation, and ensure excellence in delivery. You'll work closely with senior team members to produce compelling visual materials, support design coordination, and ensure design intent is consistently realized.
Design Excellence
- Contribute to the development of the design narrative and ensure a consistent approach throughout the project cycle.
- Assist in various design tasks, including conceptualization, documentation, and material selection, under the guidance of senior team members.
- Research imagery to support the development of the design narrative and storytelling.
- Collaborate daily with senior designers to ensure developed designs are aligned with the set design direction.
- Collaborate with junior team member to ensure the design intent is cohesive throughout the design tasks developed with the team.
- Develop and create physical sample boards and ensure validation from senior design team.
- Prepare rendering packages for 3D visualizer to execute the design intent accurately, and comment on received draft visuals from 3D visualizer under the guidance of the senior team.
- Crafting digital mood boards, digital FF&E boards, and digital finishes boards following OBMI template and guidelines.
- Develop 3D representations of spaces and render plans and elevations for client presentations.
- Engaging with suppliers and manufacturers, sourcing materials, and updating the in-house library.
- Collaborate daily with senior designers to ensure developed designs are aligned with the set design direction.

Technical Quality
- Produce visual representations such as 2D and 3D drawings and prepare rendering packages for the visualizer team.
- Ensure graphic quality and content integrity in all presentation materials.
- Demonstrate excellent skills in the preparation of design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and material boards.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and reviewed with senior designers on a weekly basis.
- Assist in the production of plans and elevations, specifications, and material selections, by annotating the drawings with the different codes.
- Develop project specifications which are accurate and adhere to OBMI standards.
- Utilize the online specification platforms for documenting the specifications of the project.
- Review developed documentation and specifications with senior designers on a weekly basis.
Project Coordination
- Participate in project coordination activities, such as attending meetings, coordinating with consultants and manufacturers, and assisting in project administration tasks.
- Support the project team by coordinating the design intent with consultants for elements such as artwork, signage, and lighting.
- Collaborate with the team to conceptualize and refine design directions based on project criteria and program.
Industry Engagement
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, innovations, and best practices within the interior design industry.
- Attend industry events such as conferences, design forums, and trade fairs to maintain professional relevance and gather insights.
Strategic Initiatives
- Take a significant role in one of the annual strategic initiatives defined by OBMI Global, supporting the successful delivery of studio-wide objectives.
- Contribute to implementation and follow-through by collaborating with team members, tracking progress, and reporting outcomes.
- Site Supervision
- Support re-selection of alternative samples or FF&E selections as required in collaboration with senior team.

Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited design institution.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in interior design.
- Basic navigation skills in Revit.
- Proficient at an intermediate level in Autodesk AutoCAD and other 3D modeling software such as SketchUp and Rhino.
- Proficient at an intermediate level in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Strong foundational skills in freehand drawing and sketching techniques.
- Working knowledge of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
- Familiarity with interior finishes, sanitaryware, and hardware.
- Self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational skills including time management.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for design and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
