POSITION OVERVIEW
The Ground Maintenance Technician is to ensure that the grounds of the school campus are maintained, orderly, and healthy in order to provide a visually appealing and safe outdoor environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Mow, edge, and fertilize lawns
-
Weed and mulch landscape beds
-
Trim hedges, shrubs, and small trees
-
Remove dead, damaged, or unwanted trees
-
Plant flowers, trees, and shrubs
-
Water lawns, landscapes, and gardens
-
Monitor and maintain plant health
-
Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment
-
Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tidying down unsecured items, etc.

Installing or maintaining sprinkler and irrigation systems
SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Landscaping or grounds maintenance experience preferred but not required
SKILLS & ABILITIES
-
Self-motivated
-
Familiarity with sprinkler systems and other landscaping equipment
-
Knowledge of gardening techniques and products such as fertilizers and pesticides
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
-
Maintenance Building/Shop
-
Extreme/various weather conditions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical stamina
-
Ability to stand, kneel, or walk for long periods of time

Ability to lift 60 pounds
