Job Title: Site Development & Underground Utilities Superintendent
Location: Thonotosassa, FL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 annually
Language: English or Bilingual (Spanish a plus)
Certification Required: OSHA 30

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Development and Underground Utilities Superintendent to lead civil construction projects from initial site preparation through utility installation and final grading. This role requires hands-on experience in underground utility work, exceptional leadership, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily on-site operations for site development and underground utilities.

  • Supervise crews performing grading, trenching, pipe installation, compaction, and testing.

  • Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and survey stakes.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, inspectors, utility companies, and general contractors.

  • Ensure OSHA compliance and enforce company safety protocols.

  • Track job progress, manage schedules, and allocate labor, materials, and equipment efficiently.

  • Verify proper installation of stormwater, sewer, water mains, lift stations, and fire lines.

  • Maintain daily reports, logs, and documentation.

  • Troubleshoot issues related to weather, equipment, or site conditions.

  • Support overall project timeline and drive critical path tasks.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil/site development and underground utility construction; at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting site/civil plans and construction documents.

  • Strong knowledge of erosion control, excavation, storm drainage, grading, water, and sewer systems.

  • Proven leadership, crew management, and scheduling abilities.

  • OSHA 30 Certification (required).

  • Familiarity with GPS setup, grade checking, and field layout.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with multiple stakeholders.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to local job sites.
