Plant Manager – Pavco Furniture

Pavco Furniture, a leader in the manufacturing of high-quality outdoor aluminum furniture, is seeking an experienced, hands-on Plant Manager to oversee our dynamic operation. With a team of approximately 50 employees and annual sales exceeding $10 million, we are poised for continued growth and innovation in the outdoor living industry.

About the Role

The Plant Manager will take full responsibility for all plant operations, including fabrication, welding, powder coating, finishing, and shipping. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring deep expertise in metal fabrication and welding, as well as a proven track record managing manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment. You will drive operational excellence, foster a culture of safety and quality, and help position Pavco for its next phase of strategic expansion.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and manage day-to-day plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are consistently met.

· Supervise and develop a team of 50+ employees across multiple production departments.

· Oversee scheduling and workflow for fabrication, welding, paint, and finishing, ensuring timely fulfillment of sales orders.

· Collaborate closely with sales and customer service teams to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and to specification.

· Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs); provide clear, up-to-date communication across departments.

· Evaluate current equipment and processes for opportunities to improve quality, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

· Maintain strict inventory controls and ensure raw materials are available to meet production demands.

· Enforce OSHA compliance and lead ongoing safety training and inspections.

· Analyze production costs and margins, providing actionable feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

Qualifications

· Minimum 5–7 years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with 25–50 employees.

· Strong, hands-on background in metal fabrication, welding, and powder coating is essential.

· Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and organizational skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and ability to analyze production data.

· Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering principles.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively across teams.

· Proven ability to adapt, prioritize, and thrive under pressure in a fast-changing environment.

· Commitment to safety, quality control, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Education

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience will be considered[1][2].
