Legal Assistant / Litigation Support for CPA Firm
Deerfield Beach near Hillsboro Boulevard and I-95
Annual salary $55,000 - $65,000

We are a CPA firm that works with attorneys and their clients, as forensic accountants, principally family law and divorce. We also work with the State of Florida in eminent domain proceedings. We value businesses, prepare almost all the financial filings in a divorce, trace accounts, determine income of the parties, assist in finding missing assets and suggest asset distributions to each party. These are just a few of our tasks. Our cases are primarily in Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. We have a diversified staff with approximately 12 total staff and partners. We are located near I-95 and Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach.
Details regarding the position:
Main task will include reviewing / organizing / sorting client documents and data entry of this information into a production control program. Additional tasks include preparing missing documents lists, preparing / reviewing responses to requests for production and mandatory disclosure, dealing with clients / attorneys and assist CPAs in creating ebinders (from hard copies) for hearings, mediations and trials. Candidate must be familiar with QuickBooks for saving files to our production control program. Attention to detail is key as we are committed to the highest quality of work for our clients.
Skills necessary for the position:
Legal assistant skills with excellent computer experience, proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Prior experience in a professional firm as a legal assistant is preferred. Candidate must be detail oriented and have working knowledge of pleadings, discovery, and be able to identify personal and business tax returns, financial statements and other legal and personal data. A home computer is required to remote into our office computer for times when working remotely is permitted.
Additional information:
This is a full-time position, and we would like to meet you via Zoom asap, if your resume fits with our firm’s needs. Training would be in the office. Our staff is friendly, and we care about our work-life balance and can be quite flexible with time off. Overtime may be necessary from time to time, but not excessive. Candidate needs to be a self-starter without requiring micro-management from supervisors. Detail and competence are required. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Employee benefits offered.
