Pride Health is hiring a “Histotechnologist I” to support our client’s medical facility-based “Pompano Beach FL 33069”. This is a 2-3-months assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Position Name: Technical Lab - Histotechnologist I
Location: Pompano Beach, FL 33069
Pay rate: $42-$55/hr
Duration: 2-3 months contract with possible extension
Shift: 10:00 PM - 8:30 AM
also we have morning shift too
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation following lab protocols.
- Embed tissue in paraffin, perform microtomy, and prepare slides for H&E and special stains.
- Conduct special staining and IHC procedures, including reagent preparation and validation.
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, document maintenance and corrective actions.
- Accession, label, and file tissue samples, blocks, and slides accurately.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and laboratory quality control standards.
- Train and mentor junior histotechnicians and lab staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in tissue embedding, microtomy, staining (H&E, special stains, IHC).
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety, QC/QA procedures, and compliance standards.
- Skilled in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
- Education: BS in related field.
- Certification: ASCP (HT or HTL) required.
