About The Role

The General Construction Superintendent is a critical field leader at Ernest responsible for overseeing and coordinating on-site construction activities across Florida. This is a hands-on role that requires frequent travel, direct supervision of crews, and active involvement in both small commercial projects and mid-sized jobs. The Superintendent ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within scope, and to Ernest’s standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, manage, and mentor field crews and technicians on active projects.

  • Provide both on-site and remote supervision, ensuring alignment on quality, schedule, and safety.

  • Actively participate in the field as needed, with a hands-on approach to solving problems and keeping production moving.

  • Plan, organize, and direct execution of contracted scope of work.

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and general contractors.

  • Coordinate production schedules, attend jobsite meetings, and resolve conflicts across trades.

  • Ensure all installations comply with Ernest’s standards, industry codes, and safety regulations.

  • Manage material and manpower requirements to meet project deadlines.

What You'll Need

  • 10+ years of field supervisory experience in general construction, preferably with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) trades.

  • Proven track record managing commercial projects valued around ~$2 million.

  • Hands-on leadership style, with the ability to step in and support field crews directly when needed.

  • Strong ability to communicate with customers and de-escalate issues professionally.

  • Extensive knowledge of construction codes and standards (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly throughout Florida.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (Spanish bilingual skills highly preferred).

  • Proficiency with project management software, Microsoft Office, and/or G-Suite.
