Position Summary:
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the medical staff peer review process. Will work closely with the designated medical staff leaders to identify, research and report cases to the appropriate peer review committee for review and determination of appropriateness of care, in accordance with all applicable Hospital policies and procedures, including but not limited to Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
Position Qualification:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in health management or related field preferred. Certification in quality assurance preferred. Possess three or more years of healthcare experience. Able to use abstract judgment and critical thinking skills to draw valid conclusions based upon less than common variables. Able to utilize Word, Excel, PowerPoint computer programs for reports and presentations. Able to organize information, people and resources. Able to function under pressure and with multiple deadlines, use good judgement and prioritize work load. Assertive, motivated and able to maintain strict confidentiality. Flexible when priorities change. Strong writing and presentation skills. Proficiency in current Joint Commission accreditation requirements and processes. Experience in Peer Review process required. Understanding of the principles of continuous quality improvement required.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Experience in a clinical Laboratory Setting preferred.
- Medical Lab Tech II experience preferred.
Communication Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with all levels of the organization
Must clear background and drug test required.
