About the Role:
The Nurse Practitioner - Psych in Boynton Beach, BYBCH, plays a critical role in delivering comprehensive mental health care to diverse patient populations. This position involves conducting thorough psychiatric assessments, diagnosing mental health conditions, and developing individualized treatment plans that may include medication management and psychotherapy. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care and continuity across various healthcare settings. The Nurse Practitioner will also provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to manage their mental health effectively. Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Florida.
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from an accredited certifying body.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a focus on psychiatric-mental health.
- Experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in outpatient psychiatric or community mental health settings.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in behavioral health.
- Advanced training or certification in psychotherapy modalities such as CBT or DBT.
- Strong background in substance use disorder treatment.
- Experience with interdisciplinary team leadership or case management.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments to identify patient needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing and managing psychotropic medications.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services tailored to patient-specific mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters and treatment progress.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with best practices in psychiatric care.
