Job Description**Job Summary
**
The Sr. Manager, Electrical Engineering oversees Electrical Engineering activities for the Business Unit. This role is hands-on and requires the individual to have a well-rounded background with a deep understanding of electrical engineering requirements for laser designators and range finders.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
**

Provides mastery-level electrical engineering expertise to a team.

Manages a team of technicians and engineers

Responsible for adherence to Hardware Design Process and improvements

Responsible for all electrical engineering aspects of product development, including
-
Supports Business Development
-
Earned Value Management and/or Cost Account Management Experience

Works with technical team to identify, mitigate and close program risks
-
Identifies and resolves technical issues and anomalies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address discrepancies.

Collaborates with cross-discipline teams (systems, mechanical, structural, thermal, power, optical) in development, integration, and execution.

Provide direction and motivation to engineering staff in reporting area to ensure successful execution of the team’s responsibilities on all programs.

Partners across functions and makes a lasting impact on product integrity, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Provides performance management and developmental opportunities for existing staff as well as recruit new talent in order to meet technical gaps.

Supports in the development and execution of the strategic technology vision and roadmap to address new and emerging equipment and technologies.

Delivers products and services that meet cost, quality, and time expectations by working collaboratively with customers and employees.

Ensures internal processes and programs produce products that meet or exceed customers’ expectations.

Establish goals and objectives for the Engineering team within area of responsibility.

Travel, domestic and international, may be required to support business needs.
**REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
**

U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to brief at all levels within the company as well as with external customers.

Ability to develop consensus and drive the team to achieve program goals.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

Demonstrated highly effective organization, team orientation and leadership skills.

Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate employees and build best in class teams.

Strong project management skills.

Solid understanding of optical and electromechanical systems and hardware

Ability to effectively communicate and transfer system architecture and design knowledge with other disciplines including systems, software and hardware engineering, manufacturing, program management, suppliers and customers.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Willingness to take on project ownership and accountability.
**EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
**
-
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 12 years or Graduate degree and minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
-
10+ years’ electrical design experience in the DoD industry
-
8+ years’ experience writing technical documentation and developing analysis and reports.
-
8+ years’ experience leading EE design and development teams
-
Proficient with standard engineering software
