Position Summary
WRI is seeking applications for a Plant Operator. We are looking for a versatile team player, with a proven track record of working effectively in a dynamic industrial or manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have knowledge of occupational hazards and be fully committed to a safety first culture. Only those individuals with drive, ambition, skills and the potential for advancement will be considered.
Prior experience in operations or maintenance of water treatment, wastewater treatment, or used oil processing plant equipment is preferred.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Bulk liquid transfer operations
- Perform treatment of non-hazardous industrial wastewaters
- Communicate production status with yard supervisor
- Operate treatment equipment and plant equipment
- Maintain treatment equipment and plant equipment
- Maintain cleanliness of facility and safe operating procedures
- Maintain current Standard Operating Procedures for water treatment operations
- Participate in daily safety huddles
- Comply with occupational, safety and company rules
- Comply with Water and Used Oil permit requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or GED (equivalent reading, writing and reasoning skills)
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- Progressive experience in an industrial work environment
- Must be multi-task oriented and have time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment (prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and extreme heat in the summer), lift up to 50 lbs and climb a ladder up to 30 feet
- Must be able to operate (or ability to learn to operate) a forklift, pressure washer and occasionally drive a pickup truck.
- Ability to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary, sometimes on the weekend
- Basic knowledge of chemistry
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background and substance abuse screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well as continued verifications throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards.
