PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Women's Village Counselor. Performs substance abuse and mental health counseling work on an individual client basis and in a group setting. Also provides evaluation, screening and assessment services. Responsible for servicing primary caseload along with other clients as assigned, and documenting in accordance with company standards.
SCOPE OF PRACTICE:
- Screening, service coordination and treatment planning
- Continuing assessment, documentation of progress and treatment plan reviews
- Crisis intervention and recovery support services
- Psychological assessment, referral and consultation
- Individual, family and community education
- Counseling in individual and group settings
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's degree required, degree must be in a related field of counseling, psychology, social work or human services with prior experience.
- One years' experience in counseling work in individual, family and group settings required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to write accurately and legibly
- Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers
- Ability to accurately type at least 40 words per minute.
- Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend and to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
- Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) preferred.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Treatment program / Office
- Fast paced environment
- Exposure to possible verbal abuse and similar behavior
- Possible exposure to clients with communicable diseases
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a valid driver's license or ID card.
- Must pass a level II background check and drug screen.
