Position: Non-CDL Spot Truck / Yard Jockey Driver
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am – 3:30pm (Overtime as needed)
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Yard Jockey to join our team. The Yard Jockey is responsible for moving trailers and equipment within the yard and to dock doors, ensuring smooth and efficient warehouse and logistics operations. A CDL is not required for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a yard truck/jockey truck to move trailers between staging areas, dock doors, and parking lots.
- Accurately position trailers for loading and unloading.
- Conduct regular yard checks and maintain accurate trailer movement logs.
- Perform basic inspections of trailers and trucks (fuel, oil, lights, tires).
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and drivers to prioritize trailer placement.
- Keep the yard organized and free from safety hazards.
- Adhere to all company policies and OSHA safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL not required).
- Previous experience as a yard jockey, warehouse associate, or heavy equipment operator preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Solid communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard/warehouse environment.
