Maintenance Technician

Description

Miracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is looking to hire a full-time Maintenance Technician.

In compliance with federal law, all employees working with patients or interacting with other staff must be vaccinated. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the day to day repairs and security of the facility. This position is held by an essential employee and is vital to maintaining the quality of care given to our residents and patients.
  • Responsible for the daily repair and upkeep of the property.
  • Responsible for inspections of all maintenance related items as pertaining to a nursing-care facility.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include painting, cleaning mechanical equipment, changing filters, changing light bulbs, painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
  • Performs maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc.
  • Completes preventative maintenance on equipment as required, keeping accurate record keeping of maintenance performed.
  • Responsible for the care, maintenance, and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the property and/or the management company.
  • Responsible for the supply and upkeep of all personal tools required by us for Service Technician.
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
  • Responsible for the preparation of units awaiting new occupant arrivals.
  • Responsible for courteous, efficient response at all times-including being on an on-call basis for maintenance emergencies.
  • Be aware of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
  • Responsible for thorough knowledge of management company policies and property community policies.
  • Responds in a timely manner to maintenance requests by other staff members or residents and their families for needed repair in their rooms or other locations of the building.
  • Performs testing or when appropriate contracts testing of facility maintenance equipment or, including fire alarms, smoke detectors, exit door alarms and exit lighting, nurse call system and emergency generator.
  • Cooperate with other resident services when coordinating Environmental Services to ensure that the resident's total regimen of care is maintained.
  • Transport items when needed.
  • Attends mandatory in-service/workshops and performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management personnel.
  • Must maintain all privacy rules and regulations pertaining to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Also must complete an annual mandatory HIPAA training session
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of regulations governing skilled nursing
  • Previous maintenance experience is preferred
  • Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Pleasant and cheerful personality
  • Tactful and courteous approach with residents, family members, staff, and visitors
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Follow all policies/procedures and regulations
