Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
-Deliver an elevated shopping experience to hotel guests, visitors, and VIP clients.
-Promote and sell Shelborne by Proper's custom-branded merchandise, highlighting its exclusivity and connection to the hotel's lifestyle.
-Assist clients with styling, product selection, and personalized recommendations based on their preferences.
-Develop and maintain relationships with high-net-worth customers through proactive clientele.
-Drive sales and achieve performance targets while maintaining brand integrity.
-Ensure the boutique is impeccably maintained with luxury-standard visual merchandising.
-Stay up to date with fashion trends, designer collections, and hotel-branded product lines.
-Collaborate with the hotel's concierge and front desk to promote the boutique and drive foot traffic.
-Process transactions efficiently and maintain accurate sales records.
-Assist with inventory management, restocking, and product organization.
Retail Operations:
-Oversee daily shop operations, including opening, closing, merchandising, and maintaining visual standards.
-Maintain cleanliness, organization, and a welcoming atmosphere in the shop. --Ensure smooth and accurate POS operations using Shopify, including cash handling and reporting.
Inventory Management:
-Manage inventory tracking, receiving, restocking, and cycle counts.
-Maintain accurate inventory levels and manage reorders in coordination with suppliers.
-Monitor sell-through rates and identify opportunities for product optimization.
Clientele & Community Development:
-Build relationships with hotel guests and the local community to drive repeat business.
-Cultivate a loyal customer base through storytelling, personalization, and thoughtful service.
-Act as a brand ambassador both within the hotel and across the neighborhood.
Collaboration & Events:
-Work closely with the hotel's Programming Director and Marketing team to integrate the shop into on-site events and activations.
-Coordinate and execute collaborative retail experiences such as pop-ups, workshops, or limited-edition drops.
-Support seasonal and brand-led campaigns and contribute to event merchandising.
Reporting & Strategy:
-Provide weekly sales and inventory reports with insights and recommendations.
-Maintain awareness of industry trends and local market shifts to inform product curation and merchandising strategies.
Qualifications
-2+ years of experience in luxury retail, high-end hospitality, or a related field.
-Passion for fashion, luxury brands, and hotel-branded merchandise.
-Strong sales ability with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage high-profile guests.
-Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
-Experience with POS systems, inventory management, and clientele tools.
-Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and event-based scheduling.
-Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/French) preferred.
Physical Demands
-Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during shifts.
-Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., boxes of supplies, inventory, or equipment).
-Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching to perform tasks or manage inventory.
-Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs.
