What is the Value Adjustment Board?
The Value Adjustment Board is an independent, quasi-judicial body that hears and resolves taxpayer appeals related to property taxes. It exists to ensure taxpayers have a fair process to challenge decisions made by the county Property Appraiser
As Clerk to the VAB, the Clerk's Office receives petitions, notifies petitioners and taxing authorities, schedules hearings, prepares records, manages official documents, and ensures hearings follow legal requirements. The Clerk must also verify that all procedural requirements are met before hearings can occur.
This position is a full-time, temporary position with an anticipated assignment length of less than 6 months.

High school diploma (or GED), supplemented by three (3) years of recent and relevant experience; some vocational or college courses preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Clerks VAB hearings with the Property Appraiser's Office, to include personnel such as, Special Magistrates. Prepares hearing rooms.
- Complete hearing logs; ensure hearings are recorded and back-up recordings are saved for future use. Corresponds with parties as required.
- Maintains VAB records in accordance with State statutes and other governing rules.
- Monitor emails to ensure necessary information is being received and shared with Special Magistrates if necessary.
