ABOUT THE POSITION
We are currently looking for a full-time Spray Technician. This role is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the golf course and grounds through pesticide and fertilizer applications and other labor-intensive golf course and landscape maintenance. 
 
This key role is responsible for mixing and applying chemicals/pesticides such as herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides through sprays, dusts, vapors, soil incorporation or chemical application on all areas of the golf course. Our Spray Technicians must be able to identify weeds and diagnose plant diseases and problems; select and properly mix, prepare and apply the appropriate herbicide/insecticide to eliminate weed and ornamental plant problems. 
 
We are looking for someone who is be able to diagnose specific diseases and treat insects that affect critical areas of the course as well as identify and treat unwanted vegetation, using both preventative and curative methods

<li>Maintains application equipment chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with county, state and federal regulations.</li>
<li>Perform safe mechanical operation and calibration of application equipment.</li>
<li>Must be able to safely operate a golf cart.</li>
<li>Inspect all areas of property to determine pesticide and fertilizer needs.</li>
<li>Apply pesticides and fertilizers as appropriate to maintain proper condition of golf course and grounds.</li>
<li>Implement Integrated Pest Management practices.</li>
<li>Maintain product inventory with appropriate recordkeeping.</li>
<li>Perform other duties and/or tasks as directed by Management.</li>

Education and experience
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred.</li>
<li>Must complete training requirements as specified by the Department of Agriculture. </li>
<li>Commercial Applicator Restricted Use Pesticide License is required.</li>
<li>The working knowledge of application equipment and calibration techniques; knowledge of chemicals; knowledge of insects; turf diseases; grasses and weeds.</li>
<li>Ability to follow oral and written directions.</li>
<li>Minimum 1 year previous spray technician or pesticide application on golf courses.</li>
<li>Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.</li>

What You'll Do:

<li>Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.&nbsp;</li>
<li>&nbsp;Including but not limited to: &nbsp;</li>
<li>Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy&nbsp;</li>
<li>Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems &nbsp;</li>
<li>Removal of hazardous trees&nbsp;</li>
<li>Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.&nbsp;</li>

What We're Seeking:
