We have an immediate opening for a PRN Surgical Technologist. This is an exciting and challenging position with a surgery center that continues to grow. We seek to fill this role with an individual who can work at least two shifts per pay period, in addition to participation in the weekend shift rotation, with at least one Saturday or Sunday shift per month required.
General Duties:
• Sets up, stocks, and maintains supplies for the Operating Room.
• Cleans and cares for all equipment according to OSHA guidelines. Assists with sterilization of instruments.
• Assists as scrub technician in the OR. Knowledgeable of proper aseptic technique and set up/use of equipment.
• Assists surgeon & anesthesiologist with sterile surgical procedures.
• Maintains and/or reports repair needs of surgical suite equipment; monitors surgical inventory, which may include ordering supplies.
• Assists with patient care (i.e. moving patient throughout Pre-op/Procedure room/Recovery area).
• Assists RN with Embryo Transfers.
• Maintain (clean/organize) Procedure Room.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of a formal surgical technologist program. A Certified Surgical Technologist is highly preferred. HS diploma or GED, required.
• Ability to demonstrate good judgment.
• Ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
• Ability to remain calm under stress.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
