<li>Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.</li>
<li>Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.</li>
<li>Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assemble, and installs electrical conduit.</li>
<li>Pulls wiring through conduit.</li>
<li>Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.</li>
<li>Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.</li>
<li>Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.</li>
<li>Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads.</li>
<li>Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.</li>
<li>Repairs faulty equipment or systems.</li>

Under general supervision, this position creates truss placement plans, truss design drawings and truss quotes along with providing technical support to customers and sales representatives related to truss components for residential and commercial projects. The position is an office position that requires the use of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. 
 
Essential Responsibilities and Duties include:

<li>Using proprietary software, produce floor and roof truss placement plans, truss design drawings and truss quotes using your ability to understand blueprints and customer requirements for specific projects.</li>
<li>Determine design specifications based on blueprints and structural design needs.</li>
<li>Review other designers work as part of a double check system to reduce design errors prior to putting paperwork into manufacturing.</li>
<li>Create shop paperwork that is optimized and batch for efficiency based on equipment used in manufacturing.</li>
<li>Communicate with customers, general contractors, and sales staff on technical aspects of plans which require clarification from customer, Architect or Engineer. Document communication with said parties using excel spreadsheet and saved emails.</li>
<li>Consult with experienced component technicians and management when more in-depth analysis is required.</li>
<li>Plan and pace your own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.</li>
<li>Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attend periodic safety meetings as required; recommend changes to improve safety procedures.</li>
