What You’ll Do

As a City Year AmeriCorps member, your service will focus on coaching and

behaviors at school. You will plan and monitor individual student progress and
\n\n
work with teachers on whole class instruction, breakout spaces and other in-class

Role and Responsibilities

Experience in all these tasks is not necessary. We provide 2-4 weeks of training at

the beginning of the year to support you. Plus, you will work with partner teachers
\n\n
and school staff every step of the way.

· Develop literacy and/or math skills varying learning activities by student level,

answering student questions and encouraging assignment completion

What You'll Do
<ul>
<li>Prepare accurate time, cost, and labor estimates for assigned projects</li>
<li>Perform quantity take-offs and pricing using estimating software</li>
<li>Identify and evaluate vendors and subcontractors for best value</li>
<li>Assemble bid proposals and ensure timely submission</li>
<li>Follow up with clients to overcome obstacles and close deals</li>
<li>For Senior Estimator:
<ul>
<li>Lead large-dollar bid proposals and manage junior estimators</li>
<li>Negotiate with clients and oversee transition from pre-construction to operations</li>
<li>Provide cost estimate support during construction</li>
</ul>

What We're Looking For
<ul>
<li>Education &amp; Experience:
<ul>
<li>Estimator: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, or related field and 3+ years of estimating experience</li>
<li>Senior Estimator: Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of estimating experience, including leadership responsibilities</li>
<li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office</li>
<li>Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret technical documents and apply safety/OSHA requirements</li>
</ul>
