Job Description&nbsp; Job Summary:&nbsp; Coordinates reception area activities to promote communication throughout the facility, coordinates the Surgery Schedule according to the facilities policy and procedures, and acts as a liaison between the facility, physician/practice and patient/family, performs clerical and reception duties and responsibilities as well as maintains the Medical Records department and under the supervision of the Medical Director works as a Medical Assistant in times that require such persons in the pre-op/PACU area. Requirements:

Surgical and central sterile services:
<ul>
<li>Coordinate shift operations including scheduling, assigned activities, and resources.</li>
<li>Serve as a technical or functional resource for staff and performs similar duties.</li>
<li>Assign, monitor, and review progress of work.</li>
<li>Monitor and report compliance with policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Oversee and evaluate orientation and training of assigned associates.</li>
<li>May provide input in the review and evaluation of staff performance.</li>
<li>Oversee utilization and maintenance of supplies, instruments, and equipment.</li>
</ul>
Front desk 
<ul>
<li>Ability to answer multiple phone lines, transfer calls, take and distribute messages to the correct parties in a timely fashion</li>
<li>Data entry, sending, receiving and distributing all correspondence for the facility</li>
<li>Accurately prepares the schedule for timely distribution, have the ability to review and manipulate the surgery schedule on a daily basis</li>
<li>Keep all staff apprised of any changes to the schedule, or of any special needs cases</li>
<li>Initiates records for new patients, creates computer index, pre-register all new patients, compile all charts for the next day’s surgeries</li>
<li>Writing the next day’s schedule on the board every evening as well as printing and distributing the schedule for the next day’s surgeries</li>
<li>Check in all patients, copy patient’s drivers licenses and insurance cards, gather all pertinent information needed (labs, pathology etc…) prepare file labels, collect all co-pays and deductibles from patients, and make sure that charts are complete before sending the patient to the OR for surgery</li>
<li>At the day’s end, Re-review all daily charts for completeness</li>
<li>Complete OR Log with all pertinent information on a daily basis</li>
<li>Keep complete records of all daily confirmations from providers scheduling staff; all daily schedules with a complete list of staffing, and all canceled cases with complete reasons for cancelations</li>
<li>Receive and sign for any shipments delivered to front desk</li>
<li>maintains cleanliness and order of the patients waiting area</li>
</ul>
Medical records: 
<ul>
<li>Maintain filing statistics and audit filing sequence</li>
<li>File all data regarding patients into patient specific charts, marking receipt of all said information on chart check list</li>
<li>Responds to correspondence requests for medical records, processes letters and reports, document the completion of said requests</li>
<li>Receives and distributes lab results to D.O.N. for review, then to the provider for review</li>
<li>Distributes materials to other departments, requests information from other department</li>
</ul>
