<li>Quickly addressing any maintenance or equipment issues that are visible to clients</li>

<li>Following up with client lists in axel to meet monthly sales quota&nbsp;Responding to client emails&nbsp;</li>

Required Skills and Experience

About This Opportunity
You should be someone who is a learner, self-starter, exhibits high energy working with clients, is a motivator and educator, and cares about building a great community and culture in the gym. We are a small team and this person must exemplify the core values of our culture through their daily work. They should have a “roll up their sleeves” mentality, taking an ownership mindset when in the gym and priding themselves on their work. Our coaches do not have to sell training as management does the selling for you. For the first year, you do not have to do any programming as our head coach manages all programming for you. This allows you to focus on perfecting techniques with clients and being a better coach on the floor. All coaches work with all members, this allows us to be a tight knit team and focuses on a stronger client coaching approach (multiple eyer on clients).
You will be working your way to handle all 3 services: 1 on 1 in person and virtual training, 1 on 2 training (semi-private 2), and 1 on 4 training (semi-private 4). This role will involve 20-25 coaching hours a week to start once you are past the training period. The ideal candidate should enjoy being in a gym and have a strong passion for helping everyBODY succeed. You will receive a monthly stipend once you have finished your training to assist with non-coaching duties. As you go through our coaching level positions, you will increase responsibility and pay. Once you reach our level 3 coaching position, your benefits include continuing education stipend, health benefits, retirement account match, and paid vacation days.
All new coaches with MPPT start with our coaching internship program. It is a paid position requiring 4-8 weeks of shadowing and assisting in coaching work as well as training modules and lectures. It is the first step to full or part time positions with MPPT. During this time, you get to understand our systems and ways of working to evaluate if it's a fit for you. We also get to meet and work with you to understand if you're a fit for our community. We love adding people to our team but we also take the act of adding people seriously. It is important we use this initial period to evaluate fit on both sides.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years working with older clients (50+), rehabilitation clients (at a Physical therapy clinic if possible), and general populations. Under the direction of the Executive/Wellness/Program Director and in accordance with the policies of the YMCA of Southwest Florida, the Group Exercise Instructor will be responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and physically appropriate group exercise classes.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

<li>Staff is expected to act professionally and dress according to the requirements.</li>
<li>All Staff should arrive promptly for their shift.</li>
<li>Opening personnel must arrive with adequate time prepare facility for opening.</li>
<li>Follow the format of the class type and description to be taught.</li>
<li>The exercise instructors shall agree to be ready for class to start on time, finish on time and shall agree to schedule his/her time for set up and take down necessary for efficient class performance</li>
<li>Ensure that classes are safe and within industry standards and guidelines.</li>
<li>Exercise instructors are responsible for their own music and agree to use music suitable for a family setting.</li>
<li>Become familiar with class participants; learn names, their health concerns and their physical limitations.</li>
<li>Maintain constant supervision of participants during class.</li>
<li>Direct all maintenance concerns to the Executive/Wellness/Program Director immediately.</li>
<li>Ensure all participants wear appropriate footwear</li>
<li>Make sure all equipment is put away correctly following your shift.</li>
<li>Instructors are expected to find their own substitutes if they are not work their scheduled shift and communicate the substitute to the supervisor in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Attend regularly scheduled, mandatory staff meetings.</li>
<li>Utilize time clock and monitor timesheet. Bring any corrections to supervisor within a timely manner.</li>
<li>Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department.</li>
