Manager, Initiatives & Projects

Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Initiatives & Projects directs initiatives and projects related to early childhood education and strengthening Hillsborough County communities. This position will oversee a wide range of responsibilities associated with the successful execution of contracts & grants for local initiatives. The Manager will build and maintain effective professional relationships with contractors, childcare providers, vendors, community partners, and other stakeholders that foster project success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides strategic leadership and oversight for high-impact early learning initiatives, ensuring effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of grant-funded programs and organizational priorities.
  • Manage and supervise the management of contracts & grants related to early learning program initiatives and projects including invoice verification & approval, documentation of deliverables, contract compliance, and managing vendor/contractual relationship
  • Oversee the implementation of Child Assessment, iSpy Tampa Bay and the Infant & Toddler Initiatives, and other ELCHC Initiatives, ensuring alignment with state's requirements and the School Readiness Coalition Plan
  • Provide guidance on federal and state law and Florida Administrative Code as it relates to the School Readiness Program Assessment, Child Assessment and overall, School Readiness Provider Quality Improvement system
  • Assist in the facilitation of training and workshops for early childhood educators regarding various aspects of early childhood development as well as programmatic informational sessions, as assigned
  • Manage multiple budgets across initiatives and grant-funded projects, including budget development, expenditure monitoring, invoice approval, financial reporting, reconciliation, and coordination with Finance to ensure compliance and optimal use of available funds.
  • Work collaboratively with other ELCHC departments, including the Marketing/Communications team to develop and implement appropriate strategies and programs to gain public exposure for the department's initiatives and DEL and ELC projects
  • Liaise with the Information Technology Department to develop tracking systems, databases and reporting mechanisms for data and workflows related to initiatives & projects
  • Analyze data related to initiatives & projects to ensure accuracy in reporting
  • Support Director, Program Initiatives & Education as needed
  • Perform other duties that may be necessary to maintain the success of the organization, as determined by leadership

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises the Education Support Team.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Ability to exemplify our Core Values
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in early childhood programs, to include in-classroom experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' leadership experience overseeing operations in a non-profit and/or social services environment
  • Proven ability to connect with a diverse population
  • Knowledge of Best-In-Class Customer Service techniques
  • Advanced organizational, analytical, project management, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide consultation and technical assistance in a friendly, professional manner
  • Ability to navigate challenging situations and provide solutions
  • Ability to design, plan and provide competency-based training for adult learning styles
  • Familiarity with Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) preferred
  • This position requires successful completion of the level 2 background screening standards as set forth in s. 435.04, F.S.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and the ability to drive a passenger vehicle
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, not required
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Products

Physical Activity/ Work Environment
  • Work Environment: This job operates in a general office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers/fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently interacts with staff, vendors, and the general public in person and via telephone and email.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, at a desk, utilizing a computer and reviewing online and paper documents. The employee will also be required to lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Salary Description

55,602 to $83,403 per year
