Position Summary
The role of the Career &amp; Technical Instructor is to serve in the instruction, training and guidance of youth within a trade or industry. Responsible for adhering to recognized industry standards, trade and training specifications in compliance with instructional guidelines. 
Essential Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Instruct and oversee youth training in identified career and technical development,</li>
<li>Assess and evaluate academic needs of youth; provide professional instruction and teaching to a diverse population as appropriate,</li>
<li>Advise youth on career options including providing guidance and suggestions regarding future coursework, possible specializations and other career-related topics,</li>
<li>Provide instruction related to identified career and technical development according to lesson plans, Individual Education Plans (IEP) and AMIkids Blended Learning Model incorporating other instructional strategies,</li>
<li>Design hands-on lesson plans that allow for youth to apply proper use of tools, equipment, technology and techniques necessary to perform the tasks required of the industry,</li>
<li>Create and administer oral, written or performance exams to evaluate the effectiveness of lesson plans and youth progress,</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with applicable industry recognized policies/procedures/regulations,</li>
<li>Motivate and guide youth toward the successful accomplishment of established goals and objectives,</li>
<li>Effective use of the Behavior Modification System by providing redirection and coaching to youth,</li>
<li>Ensure proper use and care of PPE, physical equipment and materials; avoid or minimize any potential risk to youth or equipment damage,</li>
<li>Maintain appropriate training materials, equipment and resources and inventory,</li>
<li>Maintain timely accurate and complete youth records (includes but not limited to lesson plans and grades),</li>
<li>Document youth industry recognized certification into the national registry,</li>

<li>Attend appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as defined by state requirements and maintain certification,</li>

<li>Maintain appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance,</li>
<li>Actively supervise/coordinate day trips and special activities that involve recreational sports, facility and equipment cleaning, grounds maintenance and equipment relocation,</li>

Minimum Education, Training and Experience

Position Type: Part-Time

This position is designed to ensure Club members graduate high school on time and achieve their academic goals.
Certified Teachers are part of a team-oriented Club staff dedicated to serving our youth and creating an optimal Club Experience. This position will plan, supervise, and implement tutoring programs, homework assistance, and reading enrichment for youth ages 6 to 18.
This position is responsible for ensuring youth development principles are incorporated into all programs and activities; providing guidance and discipline to ensure a safe and positive environment for youth; ensuring the incorporation of character development, age-appropriate, and gender-specific programs and activities; ensuring that culturally diverse programs are implemented; assisting, as needed, in the planning, implementation, and delivery of activities and programs for youth ages 6 to 18.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Prepare Youth for Success
This position's primary responsibilities are:

<li>Provide individual tutoring and homework assistance to Club members and assist volunteers as they provide tutoring and homework assistance to members.</li>
<li>Design, plan and facilitate activities with members around homework assignments in order to increase the student’s interest and enrichment.</li>
<li>Provide tutoring for high-risk students who have been identified below grade level performance and/or below average test scores in language, reading, math and/or science.</li>
<li>Assists students with special homework assignments and projects.</li>
<li>Become familiar with current textbooks and learning materials used by students.</li>
</ul>
This position helps members to make appropriate choices about their education, career, social, physical, and emotional needs as it relates to educational goals. The position also assesses the developmental needs, interests, and characteristics of youth to develop targeted programs that result in an outcome-driven club experience.

<li>Ensure programs, services, and activities prepare youth for success, promoting the safety of members, quality in programs, and appearance of the Club at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to members. </li>
