This position will work at Public Works - Solid Waste &amp; Recycling Division located at 1880 2nd Avenue North, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33461. This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position based on a 40-hour work week with an hourly rate of $21.90 - $27.37.

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for semi-skilled work related to the collection and disposal of solid waste and recycling throughout the city. Work is physical in nature and involves working independently and as part of a crew. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
<ul>
<li>Operates Solid Waste and Recycling equipment including rear load garbage truck, trash truck, 60/40 recycling truck, top load truck, dumpster/cart delivery vehicles, mini rear load garbage truck and other city vehicles as assigned. </li>
<li>Ability to use pitchfork, shovel, broom, blower, litter picker, chainsaw and other equipment in the daily performance of duties in accordance with city policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Performs physical labor on back of truck providing manual solid waste and recycling collection.</li>
<li>Maintains assigned solid waste and recycling route(s) by emptying waste containers into truck, returns carts/bins to proper location, cleans up spills and debris from the ground, directs driver when backing up truck, takes waste to disposal facility and cleans out truck at end of shift. </li>
<li>Keeps equipment in good, working condition; promptly notifies Solid Waste Manager and Fleet Manager of mechanical issues.</li>
<li>Delivers and repairs dumpsters, garbage, vegetation and recycling carts/bins.</li>
<li>Participates in emergency-related operations such as hurricane preparedness and recovery.</li>
<li>Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections; and washes ing, greases &amp; and cleans daily.</li>
<li>Ability to handle multiple tasks in a day when assigned.</li>

This position is responsible for assisting the counselors and therapeutic team by giving clinical support services to patients or patients who are suffering from substance abuse or mental irregularities and are housed in our residential facilities. 
 
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
