Job Description
A Private Practice in Miami is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the Finance Department with multi-entity accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, payroll oversight, and internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in managing accounting operations in a fast-paced healthcare or multi-location environment.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements</li>
<li>Support month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations</li>
<li>Review general ledger activity, financial schedules, and variance analyses</li>
<li>Oversee daily accounting operations (A/P, A/R, cash receipts, deposits, bank reconciliations)</li>
<li>Support payroll journal entries, benefit allocations, and labor distribution</li>
<li>Assist with multi-entity accounting, intercompany transfers, and consolidated reporting</li>
<li>Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal/external audits</li>
<li>Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal controls</li>
<li>Recommend process improvements and support system optimization (QuickBooks, ADP, etc.)</li>
<li>Provide guidance to accounting staff and serve as backup for the Controller</li>
<li>Prepare ad-hoc reports and financial analysis as requested</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)</li>
<li>CPA or CMA preferred, but not required</li>
<li>3–5 years accounting experience; healthcare or multi-entity experience a plus</li>
<li>Proficiency with QuickBooks and ADP Workforce Now preferred</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls</li>
<li>Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas)</li>
