SUMMARY
<ul>
<li>Candidate will be responsible for operating wastewater treatment plants. They will operate machinery that converts wastewater in drains and sewers into a form that's safe to release into the environment.</li>
</ul>

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Control equipment and monitor processes that remove or destroy harmful materials, chemicals, and microorganisms from wastewater.</li>
<li>Run tests to make sure that the processes are working correctly.</li>
<li>Keep records of water quality and other indicators.</li>
<li>Operate and maintain the pumps and motors that move water and wastewater through filtration systems.</li>
<li>Monitor the indicators at their plants and make adjustments as necessary.</li>
<li>Read meters and gauges to make sure that plant equipment is working properly.</li>
<li>Take samples and run tests to determine the quality of the water being produced.</li>
<li>Adjust the amount of chemicals, such as chlorine and fluorine, being added to the water.</li>
<li>Use computerized systems to monitor plant processes.</li>
<li>Plan emergency reaction protocols.</li>
<li>Fix chemical leaks and oxygen deficiencies.</li>
<li>Keep records that document compliance.</li>
</ul>

Safety &amp; Compliance 
<ul>
<li>Follow all Museum, OSHA, and local safety regulations and procedures.</li>
<li>Participate in safety inspections, emergency preparedness, and response drills.</li>
<li>Inspect and maintain emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, and exit signage.</li>
<li>Identify, report, and address safety hazards or potential maintenance issues.</li>
</ul>
Operational &amp; Event Support 
<ul>
<li>Assist with setting up and breakdown for Museum programs, rentals, and special events.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Security and Custodial departments to ensure safe and efficient daily operations.</li>
<li>Provide occasional on-call or after-hours support for HVAC or urgent maintenance needs.</li>
<li>Help maintain an inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts.</li>
</ul>

Work Environment Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a busy, public museum setting. The ability to climb ladders, lift to 50 pounds, and operate maintenance tools and equipment. The Maintenance Technician may be required to assist during major weather events and work evenings or weekends for special programs or emergencies. Education and Experience Requirements 
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification in HVAC preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum of three (3) years of experience in facility maintenance or building operations, with at least two (2) years specializing in HVAC systems.</li>
<li>Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.</li>
<li>EPA 608 Certification (Refrigerant Handling) strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Proficiency with tools, power equipment, and maintenance tracking software.</li>
